Village Cemeteries and Memorials

These photos were taken at nearby cemeteries, each founded around 1830 in rural Illinois. Today the area is a far western suburb of Chicago, surrounded by homes, streets and businesses. However, new graves and monuments appear even now, showing that the cemetery continues to be an important part of the living village.
Photos include very old graves and new ones.
