Summer 2007 Steven Noyes

Dragoon Mountains - Quite Tanks

Dragoon Mountains, AZ (Arizona)

This is my favorite image from the trip. It is a quiet tank sitting high on one of the diverse boulders in the Council Rocks area famous as part of Cochise stronghold within the Dragon Mountains. What really amazes me on this image is just how life will find anyplace it can to take root. High on top of a sandstone boulder, this Yucca has thrived living next to an indention in the rock simply waiting for the Summer rains to nourish it.

I like this as well! The pov from the wide angle lens really makes this shot special. v

A brilliant and beautifully composed image.

It was not me. Unless I can now lift 6+ ton rocks:-) Remember the perspective twisting of the 16-35mm at 16mm is extreme. The round boulder to the right is about 40-50 feet and size of a small house. The tank 8" from the camera in front is only about 18" across.

Good looking shot Steven. Kinda funny how two round rocks are positioned on the right and center. Almost looks like they were put there by someone.
