Here is a work in progress, I plan to get more images to add to this image and more time and some shorter exposures to get details in the trapezium area, etc. M42 has been a challenge for me and I really want to do it justice so I am trying and trying to see what I can learn. As of the end of 2007 the data for the project consists of 6x600s and 12x300s L exposures. 5x300s Blue exposures, 5x300, 2x600 R, and 5x300, 2x600 G exposures with a STL-11000 using Astronomik filters. Taken through a Vixen VC200L at prime focus (f9).
I went to AIC in 2007 for the first time, and really enjoyed it, I knew I had a lot to learn but I had finally felt that I was at the level in which I could get something out of the conference, so I went. I was really glad that I did, I learned a lot and I am still trying to apply what I learned from my notes, my failing memory and the presentations that were made available to attendess.
I still need to do a lot more editing, like smoothing of areas, and work in general so it is still a work in progress.
