M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy

The Whirlpool Galaxy. Scope was an Orion 80mmED at prime focus. Orion StarShoot camera, 19 x 600 second exposures, gain 50 offset 100. Captured in MaximDL Essentials as raw files, debayered in MaximDL Essentials and aligned, combined, and edited in Imagesplus.

Dear Alan,
I am blown away by these 'first light' images using your small aperature refractors!
I also have the 80 mm Express (Williams Optics ED) and just received my "Star Shoot" today. Plan to use my Equatorial platform for wide field imaging and my ServoCat powered 15" Obsession Dob for the deep space experience. I can't wait to get started! Clear Skies!
