This was taken as a test. I modified a Digital Rebel by removing the IR blocking filter, this image was one of the first taken with my modified camera. This is a single exposure, 3 minutes at ISO 800, processed in Imagesplus for dark frame calibration and digital development, then edited in photoshop for some more noise reduction and some final tweaking. I did not spend a lot of time as it is after all just a test image. This is full frame, uncropped just reduced in size for the web. The scope was a Vixen VC200L at prime focus, no reducer. The VC200L has a focal length of 1800mm at f9, mounted on a Losmandy G-11 with a Borg 77mm achromat as a guider using a Meade LPI and guide dog software for guiding. The moon was almost full but had not quite risen at the time of this shot.
