Heritage Days in Alberta is Fireworks time. I have not before taken fireworks or lightening type pictures so this was a new learned experience. Lots to learn and found that it is best to be either further away or less magnification. The 70-300 mm lens was not the right lens for the place I was. Unfortunately one has to stick with the equipment or miss the fireworks. I m anxious to try lightening now-all I need is a storm.
Like you said, a 70-300 might not be the typical first choice for fireworks up close, but you managed to get some very unique shots that you probably wouldn't have got with a shorter focal length. Good work!

As you mention, fireworks are difficult. Like capturing hummingbirds, I find this takes quite a lot of practice. Where you might get hummingbirds every day for a while, fireworks don't come around that often. But you have some good shots here!
