Great Horned Owlets Learn to Fly

We have been watching a family of Great Horned Owls ... 2 parents and 3 babies for the past month or so. Recently we had the opportunity to watch an owlet practise his flying ability. He weighed his situation very carefully as he gingerly stepped towards the end of the branch and momentarily took flight as he reached out to the branch of a nearby tree. The pictures are in chronological order and were taken in the 'burst mode' setting of my camera.
