Day 1: Baltra Is, Santa Cruz, & Puerto Ayora

The Galapagos Islands are ~ 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. Quito, the capital of Ecuador lies high in the mountains. We flew from Quito via Guayaquil to Baltra Island. We took a short ferry ride to Santa Cruz Island and then a bus to the town of Puerto Ayora where our catamaran "Queen Beatriz" was moored.We settled in and then visited the Charles Darwin Research Station.
