Have seen a couple of pairs of these birds. they are considerably larger than the Downy and have a large bill. They are ~ 91/4" long and have a wingspan of ~ 15". They come to the feeders for the suet and once they have their young, they can be seen at the feeders teaching the young how to navigate the feeders.They are more skittish than the Downy WP.
