By the time summer arrives we are entertained by juvenile birds and animals as they discover their world. One can still discern a variety of bird calls, but it gets quieter as the birds prepare to migrate to southern destinations. There's a period of approximately 2 weeks when the realization that the birds are silent / gone ... and momentary disappointment sets in. Reality sets in usually during the first two weeks of August.

They can be seen for approximately 2 weeks during the summer. Conditions ripe for this phenomena are warm summer days and evenings .... usually a warm dry spell.
