YOU START WITH A VISION

Every photograph taken by every photographer starts with a vision.
(At least I think that is probably true)
It take equal measures of skill, timing and luck to get the result to match your vision.
More often than not, I don't succeed in getting my vision.
With this photo, however, I exceeded my vision.
I can't explain why I like this.
Perhaps it is her wonderfully composed expression
playing off against her totally uncomposed tumble of hair.
Or perhaps it is something else.
I just don't know.
But I do know I like it better than the photo I had in my head when I was shooting.
I think she did really well here.
I also think she looks about twenty years older here
than she looked in yesterday's photo.

Creative vision, superbly executed! I agree with you about her expression being so calm whilst braids fly all around her. That makes the shot! V.

I like both photos but agree with you that she looks totally different in either. Together they are good examples of what is possible with photography.

What a contrast between the two photos, yesterday's and today's. Excellent captures, of course.

Yes, she does look older - I think maybe some of the innocence has gone. Or so it appears.
I really do like the creamy yellow background in this gallery.
