SUNDIAL FIELD

If I had it to do all over again I would photograph this differently.
At the time I think I was just trying to keep from getting
frostbitten fingers. But I went out for a lovely snowshoe trek this morning
in the fresh fallen snow from the blizzard. We were lucky in that we
got to be the ones to leave the first footprints. That's a favorite
for me. But with the high winds and the creaking trees it also
felt a bit treacherous.

I like this... love the long shadows going across the snow. Many moons ago when I lived in Maine, I would carry salt and cedar bows to deer yards. Love being the first to break snow with my snowshoes.

Wonderful vertical lines of the trees, horizontal lines of their shadows on the snow. A pleasing image.

Envy you this solitary trek. You had great clear skies long before we did, I think.
Dogs must have loved it!

I love the lines of the shadows of the trees.

Fabulous shot Liza. And I'm impressed that you snowshoed to get there. And yes, being the first to leave footprints does get one closer to nirvana! So art must be both the process and the result!
