THE BRIDE

I have new found respect for wedding photographers now.
I spent the day yesterday helping to photograph the wedding of
the daughter of friends of mine who are probably going to be reading what I
write here so I have to be careful ;-)

This was longest the most grueling day I have spent in a long long long
time. Every fiber of my being aches, and I am positively exhausted. Though my
friend extended an invitation to have me be a guest as well as the photographer, I thought
it would simply be easier if I just focused on the photographing. I am fascinated now by
what intense work this job is. I know I could never do it professionally, but if ever
asked again I would be honored to do it for any friend.

Besides me, there was a real wedding photographer who was a terrific man with
a wonderful sense of humor that kept me laughing most of the night. I picked his
brain and learned a fair amount as well so all in all it was quite worth it I think and
despite the whining I have done here, I had a good time.

The bride looked radient (I hope that comes through in this photo?) and
the bridegroom was a handsome and terribly funny Brit. It looked as though
all the guests enjoyed themselves so I would say the day was a success all around.

To Jen, Richard, Margie and Bob... Congratulations.

Very nice work. Lighting and detail are excellent.
And I agree with you that it is hard work. I did the same for my niece last September[http://www.pbase.com/rtwo/thewedding ] and it wiped me out.
Good work by you... I hope you post more images.

B'gosh Liza, this is the best I have ever seen you shoot. In spite of all the hassels, you are truly a jewel !. With great admiration....the mother of the bride.!!!!!

The bride is very pretty and the shot is excellent. I like the colors here; it all seems so "right", so correctly lit.

Liza.. this is fantastic! seriously.. the coloring and clarity are perfect. She DOES look radiant..
I could never do weddings.. anything that permanent.. that once in a life time.. i'd be sure to screw up.. have my white balance on the wrong setting or something...

well done

I know several people who shoot weddings . . . .and all say the same . . . it IS hard work . . . and don't do it for friends or family cuz they won't understand!! LOL!

It can be a very stressful time of it if things don't go just right. I helped a guy for a couple years and was beginning to dislike photography. I quit..:-) I praise anyone who does weddings and still has a sane mind! Very nice photo, BTW!

So that's where you were yesterday! :) Wow, what a great experience. Even though you might not want to grow up to be a wedding photographer, I imagine you learned quite a bit that you can use in other shooting situations.

This is quite a lovely photo, and the bride is positively gorgeous! Well done, Liza.
