THE BRIDE
I have new found respect for wedding photographers now.
I spent the day yesterday helping to photograph the wedding of
the daughter of friends of mine who are probably going to be reading what I
write here so I have to be careful ;-)
This was longest the most grueling day I have spent in a long long long
time. Every fiber of my being aches, and I am positively exhausted. Though my
friend extended an invitation to have me be a guest as well as the photographer, I thought
it would simply be easier if I just focused on the photographing. I am fascinated now by
what intense work this job is. I know I could never do it professionally, but if ever
asked again I would be honored to do it for any friend.
Besides me, there was a real wedding photographer who was a terrific man with
a wonderful sense of humor that kept me laughing most of the night. I picked his
brain and learned a fair amount as well so all in all it was quite worth it I think and
despite the whining I have done here, I had a good time.
The bride looked radient (I hope that comes through in this photo?) and
the bridegroom was a handsome and terribly funny Brit. It looked as though
all the guests enjoyed themselves so I would say the day was a success all around.
To Jen, Richard, Margie and Bob... Congratulations.
