FRIESIANS

I couldn't decide which of these I preferred for today's pad.
I think I am partial to the solo horse shot but I'm not sure.
As always, your opinions are very instructive for me.

Fantastic!! Both.

I like them both but agree the single horse shot would be my pick. Beautiful fall colors and it's interesting that the fence is painted black. To match the horeses?

Fabulous image! The richness of colors are wonderful.

Yep, I think the lone horse is a winner. Such a sense of space in the field and background. Like how you left a little field in back of the horse, instead of getting him on top of it. You sure had better weather today than we did.

I also perfer the lone horse, I like that you got a bit more of the sky, but not too much. Really brings out the colors. Very beautiful snootydog. Cheers

Very powerful images. I like the first one best. Excellent composition.

I too prefer the lone horse but they are both GREAT anyway!

The lone horse is just perfect....the sky, the trees, fence, and his position. Beautiful, Liza.

I think the lone horse is much to be prefered. In that photo, the background becomes much more a part of the image, without being intrusive. The lone horse also implies solitude, and hence peace. Excellent composition!

I prefer the solo horse ... it makes for a much stronger image. Well done! What an idyllic scene.
Dennis Croteau06-Nov-2004 01:12
I think the solo one appears to be much more composed and the other seems (to me anyhow) cluttered with the other horses. The solo shot is much more even in composition where as the other you are immediately drawn to the action of the horses and forget the beautiful landscape.
(did I say all that? wow Im good...lol)

I like the lone horse the most. He is so startling black that he doesn't look quite real.

Horse with head up = good horse photo. The lone horse is interesting for the foliage, and the dark horse makes a focal point, but the line of horses makes a subject.
