I'm in San Diego this week for some meetings. Last night I had a bit of time so I went to NTC San Diego. My first visit to NTC was in September 1980 when I reported for Navy Recruit Training, (aka Bootcamp). Recruit Training was conducted a the center from the 1920's through 1994. The center closed fully in 1997, and most of the buildings are being refurbished and used for local businesses and other gruops.
More importantly than bootcamp I received some of my first photographic training at the center. In this building, in the mid 1980's I completed Photo-Intel school and learned about B&W film and print developing so I could photograph vessels encountered on the high seas.
After shooting a few shots of the exterior I decided to try some "zoom burst" shots.
