I am feeling a little patriotic today. I know our nation is far from perfect. But I also know that the majority of Americans are honest, hardworking, "normal" people from a
wide variety of racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. When I was a young boy we lived in Baltimore, MD. Once a month or so my folks would take us to one of the
several historic sites in the area. D.C., Gettyburg, Baltimore, etc. We'd tour the city, see the sights, or go to the wonderful museums. One of the things I most fondly
remember is going to Fort McHenry, and seeing the film they played there about Francis Scott Key, and how he was inspired to write the poem "The Star Bangled Banner"
that would later become our national anthem. This shot reminds me of those trips. Thanks Mom and Dad, you've given me a lifetime of wonderful gifts. I love you both!
