WWII Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient John D. "Bud" Hawk gets an enthusiastic and warm welcome from Bainbridge High School students and staff during
Homecoming festivities. Bud originally graduated in 1943, but returned in 1945/1946 while recovering for "postgraduate" studies after he was discharged in 1945. His
postgraduate studies helped him prepare for entry into the University of Washington where he completed his degree and began his life's work as a teacher and principle.
