Has it really been since August since I made my last entry. I really must do a better job of carving out time to post some images and thoughts here.
This composite I took this past Tuesday, the 11th of November. I had the day off and visited my folks in Hoquiam, WA. I have wanted to capture an image of my father enjoying one of his 2 favorite pastimes, (the second being skiing, and I'll get that one later this year...). So we headed out. As we were leaving his house I didn't think I'd even get my cameras out as it was pouring rain. So we drove around the area to a few of his favorite spots, and quickly discovered the rivers were quite swollen. Then Dad remembered this spot where he said there was always a bit of a bar. It is on the Humptulips River, somewhere between Hoquiam and Moclips, WA.
As we pulled onto the bar, the clouds broke and we even got a hint of sunlight. With the water running as high and as fast as it was he knew he wouldn't catch anything but humored me by gearing up and doing some wading in front of my camera.
I was really nice just to spend some time with him.
