Tchagra senegalus, Black-crowned Tchagra

Tujereng, Gambia

Medium-sized, long-tailed bushshrike of dry scrubby bush. Forages mostly on the ground in search of insects, frogs and tadpoles. Has a variety of calls, from growling and rattling notes to loud bursting but cheerful whistles. Found througout Africa except in desert areas.
