Welcome to the backbone region of Rutgers University. This region covers areas in urban New Brunswick and neighboring Piscataway across the River. It consists of five of the seven mighty campuses of Rutgers including the flagship campus College Avenue, home of Queen's College; the first school of the University. With all campuses combined, New Brunswick/Piscataway alone accomodates over 40,000 students in which more than half reside in dorms or near campus.

Rutgers athletics also has some histroical significance. The first college football game was played here on Rutgers New Brunswick. It also participates in Division 1 athletics.
