The American Alligator

Bayou Trepangier, Louisiana

The American alligator, sometimes referred to colloquially as a gator,
Aligator amerykanski, aligator missisipski (Alligator mississippiensis).

I was able to take this shot thanks to our Pbase friend Scott Schexnaydre who invited Jola and me for a great swamp trip in his boat.
Scott let me use his nice 500mm lens with 1.4 teleconverter.
