Syrphid Fly, Hoverfly, Bzyg (Helophilus fasciatus)
Syrphid flies are also known as hover flies, flower flies, or drone flies. Syrphid flies cannot sting and do not bite.
One of their identifying characteristics is their bee or wasp mimicry. This presumably affords them some measure of protection against creatures who would ordinarily view non-stinging flies as a food item.
They are also known in some regions as hover flies for their habit of hovering in front of flowers.
