I believe they spotted that F4 shell for the fire / emergency guys to drill with. As far as that Martin goes, I understand it saw long service with a South American airline and sometime back in the 80's they were flown in to the coast with an idea of using them for cargo service. The plan never materialized, though and regrettably, they did indeed "rot". I actually saw one of 'em flown in to nearby Stennis airport. Those big radials always attract a crowd.

I'm from Fort Walton Beach/Eglin AFB and we have many old ruins of mil A/C like this on abandoned field tarmacs, but I've never seen one this intact! What's the story behind this and that Martin? As a fellow pilot, I just hate to see aircraft rot.
