31_Oct_09 Loch of Skene
Last day of October bids it's farewell
in a colourful fashion...no witches around here though
...but I did leave before it got dark!!
29_Oct_09 Denburn
Autumn leaves almost choke the stream....
but all the recent rain we've had will just sweep them away

28_Oct_09 Splash of Colour
Wandered round Johnstone Gardens at lunchtime,
enthralled by the autumn colour!
26_Oct_09 Autumn Sunshine
A rare sight up here in the last week,
when the skies have been very grey and the
precipitation considerable!!
24_Oct_09 Angry Sea 2
I was going to nip down to the lighthouse again today at high tide,
but it is blowing a hooley and tipping it down with rain....

18_Oct_09 Glen Esk
The autumn colours are nearly at their best now,
and in the shelter of the gorge most of the leaves are still on the trees.

14_Oct_09 Swan-necks
I read somewhere that you are not supposed to feed swans bread,
but offer them dandelions instead. All we could offer were bran flakes...
which seemed to go down rather well!!

13_Oct_09 Natural Selection
On the beach at Findhorn,
each one of these pebbles was selected by the tide
to fit exactly in the space between the post and the rail of the groyne.
Too big and it it wouldn't slot in ....too small and it would just be
washed out again on the next tide....it makes you stop and think for a moment!!

and mum and dad seem pretty pleased too!!

A stroll along the beach at Findhorn,
looking west towards the sandbar at the
estuary of the River Findhorn and over
the Moray Firth to the Black Isle
