Lunch view

After about two hours of climbing, we arrived at the lunch stop, and were rewarded with this view. Not a bad spot for a picnic, huh? The lunch Cycle Oregon provided was a baked potato with all the trimmings. A little odd, but it hit the spot. Riders were given the option of staying at Diamond Lake, riding up to the spot pictured here then back to Diamond Lake, or continuing on around the 31 mile rim road that circles the lake. Any choice other than riding the entire route would have meant breaking one of the team rules, so my brother and I started off on the rim road. Not that we wouldn't have, anyway. It's a rare opportunity to ride a bicycle around Crater Lake, especially in the weather we had that day.
