Planning to drive as far as Nakalele Blowhole, we set off driving north on Honoapiilani Highway. Honokohau Bay was as far as we got before my wife's nerves got the best of her. I don't know if it was my driving or the barely two-lane road along the cliff-sides that did her in. I knew better than to go beyond Nakalele, but at this point, I didn't think the road was any worse than what we'd encountered on the Road to Hana. Just more exposed to the sheer drops, maybe.
