I was wandering around the White House one day and noticed a gathering in Lafayette Park so went to investigate. A guy named Peter from CA explained it was a rally for Leonard Peltier as part of Native American Month. Peltier has been in prison for near 25 years allegedly for the deaths of FBI agents. There are many who believe he should be freed. I returned on Thanksgiving Day to find 20 or 30 people silently holding signs for Peltier in front of the White House. I found their efforts sadly ineffective because the only people who seemed to be in the area were foreign tourists who I could overhear coming up with inaccurate explanations for the scene.
