Wanda 2 05_12_07.jpg

Here is the planned image from yesterdays quick photo session. I wanted it to be all about Wanda's eyes accented with the blue flowers. It's shot with a very wide open aperture to get a very narrow depth of field. I wanted everything to be soft pastels with her eyes just popping into focus. Lighting is just available light with a reflector.

I'm pleased that the shot turned out how I saw it in my head the day before when I saw the patch of wildflowers.

Here is an outtake of Wanda being her slightly naughty and mischievous self.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
1/1600s f/4.0 at 200.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Bill, after following your images for a couple years now, I'm always impressed with your ability to visualize what you want, and follow the idea through to perfection. You've certainly done that here.

Wanda, I hope you don't get tired of hearing how beautiful you are. It would be easy to make that comment on every photo that Bill posts of you, but I'd hate to wear it out so it doesn't mean so much. But on this one, not much comes to mind other than you look absolutely stunning.

Beautifully done, Bill. The colors, lighting, DOF, and focus are right on. You definitely achieved your goal with this very lovely shot.

I still haven't noticed the wildflowers. I also want to thank you for helping me to understand the classical description of Helen of Troy: "the face that launched 1000 ships". I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that Wanda's eyes are looking straight into my soul.

Bravo...
Her eyes have always caught my attention...Beautiful...

I think each of us can be caught in a moment like this...
When we share the feeling and that pause in time and space as we look eye to eye with that special person in our life...

Wanda and Bill...
Thanks for sharing a bit of one of those moments with us...

Looks like you got exactly what you wanted - this is a beautiful shot. I like the shallow dof, and your focus is spot on.
