We go to Yellowstone to commune with nature, to relax. We go to get away from the day to day grind. But people tend to think alike; so, we end up on our vacations with everyone else. What does that mean? It means we have to deal with traffic jams. We deal with crowded restaurants, hotels and parking lots. You get to listen to the booming sound of the radio in the kid's car behind you. We watch parents yell at their kids and each other. At least we get to enjoy it all in much prettier surroundings.
Here is a little secret. In Yellowstone most people sleep in, get up late, shower, eat breakfast. They head out to explore the park around 9:30 or 10:00 AM. They are done by dinner. So get up early, sunrise is always wonderful. Stay late and enjoy the park before and after the crowds.
