Wanda 3 06_25_06.jpg

Today we spent a little time just looking for a location for future photos. We found a few places with possibilities.

I took a few test shots at one place; so, not much thought went into clothing selection, hair or makeup. This was just to see how the light was in the place we found. I'm sure we'll put this place to use in the future.

Location makes good background and pretty model as well. Looking forward to more posts from this location. Excellent stuff.

Wanda, as Billy Crystal would say, "Darling, yoooou look maaarvelous". Welcome back, we miss you being you.

James, the only thing I miss when shooting the 5D is the speed of the 20D. The 20D frame rate feels twice as fast. It has less shutter lag and less black out time. Of course you get more mirror whack from that speed on the 20D.

Beyond the speed the 5D is a more refined machine than the 20D. The added features make taking pictures easier. The full frame gives you more creative options with even great/narrower DOF possible. The added larger pixels make for wonderful files, more dynamic range and less noise. Really it is a nice camera and the output is beautiful.

The 5D and 30D share lots of the same features. I think a 30D is in my near future. I could sell my 20D and 10D and get one with little to know money out of pocket.

As far as clothing, hair, and makeup, Wanda needs no help there. She always looks amazing! Great shots. Love the DOF. Congrats on that amazing ride for a great cause, she looks 10 years younger now and her love for life must be your fountain of youth!

BTW, just got myself a Nikon D70s w/ Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens. Just used it on a last minute trip to St. Maarten. We were celebrating our son's acceptance into the Naval Academy. The new camera is to help me replace the "empty nest" as we take him to Annapolis for IDay this Wednesday and he doesn't come home again until Thanksgiving. I thank you and Wanda for the example you both set through strength of your marriage and the beauty you share through your talented eye. Being very new at this I hope to learn one tenth of what you know and I will be happy.

Sincerely,
Your friend on the isle!!

Great stuff here as usual.Wanda is looking much better than girls half her age.I was under a bridge about two weeks ago scouting locations for a rainy day and can't wait to shoot there.I thought it would be great and you proved it.But then again you two can pull of just about anything.

It is under a bridge. The light is just from sun light spilling in from both sides of the bridge. I liked the second pic best also. On this one, I caught Wanda just starting to blink. I can tell by her slightly closed, faster, left eye.

As a test I'd definitely give these a passing grade, As James said, different than the norm for you guy's, very urban, maybe a tad more DOF to give a feel for location would be good. Is this under a bridge or overpass? The cement seems to give some nice even reflected lighting, is that just sunlight spilling in or did you set up your flashes? As for Wanda what can I say that I haven't said before, Beautiful as always. BTW, 2nd ones my fav.

Nice one Bill. This looks like a very urban location, very different presentation compared to where we normally see Wanda. So how are you liking the 5D? Anything you miss from the 20D?
