Wanda02_18_05a.jpg

This is an image I have been kicking around in my head for awhile. We finally worked all the details out to make it work.

As photographers we need to always remember, the egos of our models are very delicate. We have to handle them with extreme care. We need to remember to show them in the best light. That is pretty much what this images is about.

This is also Wanda's first image...well at least the egg part. I setup the shot as best I could and she snapped the shutter and made adjustments. I just held the egg.

The image of Wanda was taken with the 20D and the Sigma 15-30 EX lens. WE made a bit of a huge soft box/light table for her to lay on and used both Canon 550 EX lights behind her to create the light for the image.

Canon EOS 20D ,Tamron SP AF 180mm f/3.5 Di Macro
1/200s f/14.0 at 180.0mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

This one was a lot of fun to create. I have to admit to being REAL scared when it came to laying on top of a glass table bare-assed nekkid! The glass would bow under My weight and I had visions of the glass breaking and slicing My nude body to bits! So, to make Myself feel safer and more comfortable, I decided the glass table needed a brace of sorts under it. I figured out that My body would block the view of anything directly under it, so I placed a stack of My favorite Clive Cussler, hardback novels under the glass to support it! (proud smile) Even though I am blonde, I AM creatively intelligent at times. (grin)

To Me, this picture portrays many things. It represents the fact that even though I am a full grown woman, I am still growing and developing..... Even though I have a very strong personality, I am still vulnerable and delicate at times. Bills fingers around the egg illustrates how very much he holds My world in his hands and I trust him to do so. (warm, loving smile directed at My "LoveBug")

This image makes it to the top of My "favorites" list. (s)

Well, I didn't think of the space blanket, ... pretty much figured out the glass table but thought it was a sheet under the table with a gel. The snooted egg and the highlight from above and photoshopping I was right on. Absolute great iimage. If I could vote again, I would. May have to buy a signed enlargement of this one, it's that good! Congratulations! This will be a salon' competition winner!

Wesley Aston19-Feb-2005 04:38
so is the a good egg or a bad egg? :)
Wm. Bates19-Feb-2005 02:08
I'll give you the basics of how we did it. First we photographed me holding the egg with the egg up against a black snoot connected to a flash and another flash on the boom above my hand.

Wanda's picture was a lot more difficult. She is laying on a glass table with a sheer drape underneath her. We put the space blanket under the table. We aimed the 550EXs into the space blanket one on each end. I had the flashes 2 plus stops over with a reflector above her for a little fill.

After that it was all photoshop.

Okay, … it took me a few minutes to figure out how you did this shot and how to duplicate it, … but I think I have it. Nevertheless, … it’s one of the finest images on your PAD so far. Absolutely beautiful and awe-inspiring. As a photographer I tip my hat, ... as a PBase member, I vote!
