This was just a little experiment in lighting. The roses are from two weeks ago when we took the PBase Magazine cover shot.

My poor dead roses! This was an easy one to pose for cuz I knew most of My face would be in the dark and I didn't even worry about the expression on My face. OH, and since the mock "pbase magazine cover shot" there IS a real pbase magazine now! Be sure to go to the main page of Pbase to see it! Arjun has done a fantastic job on it!

Pelicans-rest,

There is a small group working on putting something like a real PBase magazine together as we speak. At this point it may just be a web based thing or maybe its just a pipe dream. Time will tell.

Oh...this Seasoned Citizen got fooled :-). I wa hoping there was one because I wanted to read the article on how you guys manage to do this everyday (and do it so very well, I might add!). Thanks

Click on the cover it will take you to Gary Blanchette's full image.

I really did want a feeling of doom and dread with the aging of the flowers; the fading light; the large, dark, unknown space. But, the light is coming from that dark space. Maybe what is on the other side of the journey isn't so bad.

Ok first...there isn't a PBase Magazine...only a cover

Yes I'm still working with the Canon flashes. We did this with just one flash. The slightly spooky look with dead flowers was on purpose. I wanted the light fading from both the woman and the flowers.

I think this one suffers because there is no light in Wanda's eyes. The dead eyes and the dead roses make for a spooky look. Maybe that's what you were after?

Bill, have you started using studio lights, or still using the canon flashes ? btw, I love what you did here with the lighting (except for the dead roses.....hehe)

Bill, I cannot find any info about a PBase Magazine. Can you steer me in the right direction? Have enjoyed the year...amazed at the discipline it must require for both of you. Must have been days when one or both of you wanted to skip. Thanks!
