Notice the slight moire in the strands of hair on his forehead. This can happen with a D70 in a photo where there is lots of fine detail. It means the lens exceeded the sensor's ability to properly resolve detail. I rarely find it objectionable and it's easy to fix using Nikon Capture options. At least I know I got the focus close to the eye and did not have much camera shake.
