HMAS Canberra FFG 02

In 1981 I joined HMAS Canberra in Seattle Washington, USA, for her commissioning and first cruise as a 20 year old sailor. On November 21 st 2005, she was decommissioned from active service in the Royal Australian Navy, seeded to the Goverment of the State of Victoria to be sunk as a dive wreck. This is my time with the ship, my mates and her final hours before being consigned to Davy Jones Fleet, late 2009.
I will also load some image from other ships I served in and Navy times as well.

Hi. My late father was a survivor of HMAS Canberra (I). Could you suggest where I could purchase a wall plaque of the ship's crest? You may be interested to know that he was also a gunner. His action station at the Battle of Savo was in 'A' turret (one of the 4 x 8" turrets). He didn't go on to join the crew of HMAS Shropshire but rather volunteered for a commando unit and went on to participate in several assault landings in New Guinea.
