On Sunday 14th of October, on my day off I went to the Glozhene Monastery with the guys from work, we travelled to the area using a english version of the Bulgarian road map, just because its on the map , doesn't really means it exists there . After much travelling and doing a 35 point turn in a small side street we finally got the right directions from a old lady , who was smiling alot, could be the crazy aussies trying to turn the car around or she was just normally happy. Travelled up a narrow ashfelt goat track, backed up a few times to let cars dowm the mountain we finally made it. Approached the monastery which was very impressive, paid the "Photo" tax and merrily snapped away, thank goodness for a 1Gig card in the camera.Sent about an hour in the monastery, bought some postcards and an English guidebook. Then headed home via Estropole , a good day all round considering I drove all day, my first big trip driving.
