Another close look at the valve showing the area that seals up against the valve-seat, still with a lot of life remaining.
When the edge of the valve gets too "thin" or evolves to a knife-edge, it simply means the valve has been ground-down too many times, probably on its last leg.
Luckily, all the valves look like this and I should be able to use them for a few more hours.
