B-17

From the archives. The B-17 "909" that was involved in the fatal crash last October. I took this photo a few years ago the day after I got to fly in this aircraft. I gave this a more "vintage" look than my previous photo here.

EPSON Perfection V600

A timeless image almost like it is waiting for it's next mission. My dad was a pilot in the 388th bomb group in England finishing the required number of missions in 1945. At one point his B-17 was shot down but he and his crew escaped and made it allied lines and then returned to England. The group he was stationed with had the square H on the tail. A very nice capture Dennis. VV++

I heard about that crash and it was so sad. I go to see the vintage planes each year when they arrive at the airport near us. I never did take a ride though. Love the vintage look on this frame.

Great PoV and like the treatment. One of my favorite planes. I just love to listen to those big Pratt & Whitney radial engines. This plane had a bad experience in Western Pennsylvania back in the late 80s. While performing at an air show, Nine-O-Nine rolled off the end of the runway, crashed through a chain link fence, sheared off a power pole and crashed her way down a 100-foot ravine. V
