Not Your Ordinary Guest House...

A coworker of mine named "Ski" is quite a legend among the engineers where I work. He is a commercial pilot with flight instructor's license and has quite a love for aviation. He lives in a community which has its own runway, and has a hangar adjacent to his home which houses his Cessna 150,177RG and a few flight simulators he built using actual aircraft. One holiday break just about four years ago he decided he wanted to build a guest house using a Boeing 707 Fuselage. Tucson is a "Boneyard Capital of the World" for aircraft parts due to its dry climate and vicinity to Davis Monthan Airforce Base, so finding such a part is not too much more difficult than going to an automotive junkyard. The 707 fuselage is actually sliced into thirds that were joined together to make the body of the guest house. Then he found the 737 cockpit/nose/galley section which he added when he built the 2nd floor area. And what airplane would be complete without tail section, so he found a 727 tail section and added that too! If you are inside of the house you can see various parts of airplanes being used for furniture. Somewhere along the way Ski decided that he and his wife needed to keep their pool covered, so what better way to do that than with a 747 fuselage! The local paper did an article on it: http://azstarnet.com/lifestyles/home-and-garden/this-guesthouse-wouldn-t-fly-in-most-neighborhoods/article_b49a8ad0-f73a-5690-ba4d-7db307453e75.html
