'57 and '65 brother's Corvettes- A "sad" tale

Tucson, AZ

One of my friends own's the '65 Corvette, which was his mom's, and has been keeping his brother's '57 at his place for about a decade (his brother lives in Southern Cal and did not have the room for it until he built a new home recently). I have been meaning to photograph them together for a while and finally got around to it. Good thing, as a week later his brother told him to pull the engine and tranny out (he gets to keep them) and trailer it out to him in California- he is going to make it an electric car! He already has the frame and electric motor/control kit for it. I guess having two Teslas are not enough electric vehicles for him. I am sure it will be "cool" when it is done, but I still am sad about it, as is my friend.

Great shot! V Good you have a record of this folly! I feel as though "Taps" should be playing in the background as you are telling us this sad tale.
Sounds like a California thing and it will never be "cool" even in 2030 they will be scratching their heads. WTF? Maybe California Bro drank to much of the Koolaid.

They do look great together, the 57' is the one for me but in convertible form. Sadly I can lot of folks will be having their classics converting to electric power as we head into this way of life in 2030, still a shame though.V

A confrontation between two equals and a great capture of them....converting a Corvette to electric is absolutely an act of sacrilege....V

Nice details and colors. V

Very cool that they are matching colors and you chose a great place and arrangement. It is definitely a weird thing to do and Mike is right about ruining its future collectibility. ~BV~

Beautiful Corvette presentation V

I'm with you on that, Scott. A Corvette with no exhaust rumble? What's the point? He should stick with Teslas for quiet comfort and not desecrate the Corvette.

Nice Vettes, but very sad the 57 is going electric!!! That's most likely to take a priceless car and make it useless to any collector in the future!!!!!
