Cooper Hawk is watching me

Tucson, AZ

This is a closeup of my pesty Cooper Hawk, taken using a 1.4x Canon extender that I borrowed. We have a little "thing" where I walk outside and then he swoops down at me and then flies around and then swoops at me again. He got the top of my head from behind when I wasn't looking- did not draw any blood, or even a scratch- guess I am lucky. I am pretty sure that is his way of letting me know he is watching me- like a hawk, of course. More to come....

Great shot of him. You probably need to go to a surplus store and get an old army helmet to wear when you are in your yard. :) bv~~

Usually when raptors attack humans it is because their nest is nearby and it's only a warning.
Injuries are rare but if it is a Goshawk, RUN !...____________________________________________
Because the Goshawk can lacerate you seriously.
By the way it is a superbe shot!
