Because the screen of my laptop shows an "extra" optical phenomenon (brightness enhancement when looking at it from an angle of, say, 45 degrees downward), I think I see some weak illumination on the shadowed western inner wall and floor of Aristarchus! This "extra" optical phenomenon in the screen of my laptop is, to many, a disturbing nuisance, but... for me it is a handy tool to look into the shadowed parts of photographed lunar craters! Superb overview of the Oceanus Procellarum region during lunar sunset circumstances! Lots of details! Such a moon (the "old" moon, the Waning Crescent Moon) could only be observed during the pre-sunrise morning hours. I wonder... how many people on Earth have enough "courage" to make telescopic observations, photographs, and drawings of this kind of moon?
