What better way to start a week's vacation in Colorado, but to drive 6.5 hrs to Moab? Bill & I originally wanted to go to Crested Butte & Black Canyon of the Gunnison, but the loop quickly expanded to include Mesa Verde, Arches & Canyonland. On the drive down, we detoured to check out Rifle Falls State Park, which was the perfect venue to tryout our 6-stop neutral density filters. In Arches National Park, although the Delicate Arch at sunset was gorgeous, the 106-degree temp was brutal to hike in. (Note to self: Autumn would be a much better time to go). If you go, be sure to stay at the Cali Conchitta B&B (best breakfast) and dine at the Moab Brewery (best beer & best lemon gelato for dessert).
