Thanks to a late spring bloom, Bill & I were able to visit the Roozengaarde demonstration gardens and blooming fields in Skagit Valley, WA in the last week in April. Talk about a sea of humanity! Luckily the tulips were spectacular, despite huge crowds and awful traffic. I was shocked to see the number of people who were kneeling IN the flower beds with their kids (for that "perfect" photo op), picking flowers, and in general totally ignoring the signs to not walk between the rows. Pretty soon a few clueless people will spoil it for the rest of us when the gardens are no longer open to the general public... Taking a cue from my dahlia pictures last fall, I shot the demo gardens using a 100mm macro, then switched to a wide angle for the field shots.
