Instead of hitting the after Christmas sales, Bill & I overnighted at Mt Rainier for a little R&R in Paradise. Their first day was a bust....miserable fog and rain with very little visibility. We hunkered down at the National Park Inn for a tea & scones and Yahtzee marathon evening, and were duly rewarded with a bluebird sunshine day of snowshoeing the next morning. On the way down, we stopped off to check out Narada Falls, which was beautiful despite the treacherously icy trail down to the viewpoint. Surprisingly enough, we discovered the Elbe Bar & Grill for friendly waitstaff, amazing burgers and good microbrews. All in all, a pretty good weekend.
