With both our birthdays within one week of one another, what better way to celebrate than a weekend escape to Cannon Beach? Bill & I took advantage of the off-season to explore Cannon Beach, OR and the surrounding coast. We took our cameras to Cape Meares lighthouse near Tillamook, and Haystack Rock & Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach. As always there was abundant microbrew opportunities at the Pelican Brewery in Pacific City, Bill's Tavern in Cannon Beach, and Bridgeport, Rogue & Deschutes Breweries in Portland. We returned to Seattle via Long Beach, WA and got some fun pictures of North Head Lighthouse in Ilwaco then stopped in at Fish Brewing in Olympia for a fun smoked salmon platter and a couple of brews. I also got to play with my new "toy" camera--a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX37. It's a whopping 10MP camera in a form factor about the size of a deck of cards... As for picture quality, try to spot the Lumix landscapes mixed in with my 5D. Too bad it doesn't have a RAW format.
Great collection of photos from a place I would love to visit. This Haystack Rock is amazing. Your compositions are good and the light on the beach shots is very good. A great gallery indeed. [v]
