This a trip to Cuba aboard M/Y 'Double Haven'. We spent one month diving on the South Coast of Cuba visiting five different dive sites along the way. We made one dive on the north side of the island near Vinales. The seas were very rough and the visibility was marginal. The first spot on the west end of Cuba was Maria La Gorda [Fat Mary]there were many wrecks and the fishing was very good. We caught a few nice sized Wahoo and the Chef did a nice job of preparing them for our dinner.

We next stopped on the south end of Isla Juventude. This is a very isolated location. The bottom drops off here to considerable depth. The divers spotted Marlin feeding here and we spent a lot of time on the bottom filming the small sea life.

Next stop was near Cayo Largo, where we visited the resort and met the officials from the Guardia de la Costa, [Cuban coast guard]who did a brief inspection of the yacht. The good diving spots had some mid day divers from the Resort. But early and late dives were made to avoid them.

Cienfuegos and Trinidad were our next stop. We anchored in the deep harbor just off the Yacht Club and welcomed aboard the standard Cuban Customs and Immigrations inspection. We were also required to have a Harbor Pilot aboard for our entry and departure because of harbor traffic. The dive site is back out the harbor and a short boat ride east the the beach. the diving is amongst labyrinths and deep caverns. We drove to Trinidad to visit this most historical city,which is the oldest established city in the Americas founded in 1510.
