These pictures were taken on the Reunion Boat Ride on July 26, 2002. Congratulations to Jackie Brown and the reunion Committee for their efforts to make this such a fun trip. Julio this is Myra Askew (250 West 63rd Street, older brother Joseph Askew) are there any pictures posted from the 2009 "Yacht" party and the Saturday Family day online yet? The Yacht party was fantastic the best one yet. I really had a great time. Saturday's event was also nice. Saw lots of people. This 62nd Amsterdam Reunion was a blast!

HI JULIO: I didn't get a chance to meet you on the boat but I'm a native of Amsterdam. My grandmother moved there when Amsterdam was first built. We lived in 80 Amsterdam, then my mom moved to 60 Amsterdam. I attended P.S.191,199, I.S. 44 and Brandies High Schools. My family is on its fouth generation stemmimg of Nelsons, Campbells, Spence, and Rowe... I have my own photos of the boat ride I would like share with you. Julio, What a wonderful few days we had in NY. It was emotional seeing our friends..... Mickey, to my amazement, no pain next day. I love to dance .... next few days, we did our NY walking .... loved it all .... Aida (and Cesar)

Yes, Julio, I know a number of people that were on the boatride. That is Deborah Borroughs with Pat Miller. You guys had a great time, I see. My goodness Gladys and Peter Curet haven't aged a bit. Time has been kind to them. Kevin and his dad and Stella look great as well as everyone else. By that way, I don't see any photes of me.. I guess spirits don't come out on film :)

Julio & Gang.....There aren't enough words to express, the joy and thrill I had this past weekend at the reunion seeing "old" friends after so, so many years.....Had a wonderful time at lunch and the jazz club....The reunion simply "MADE MY DAY".....The photos are great and will add to the memories of a GREAT WEEKEND....Ciao, Danny

Julio, what a pleasure it was to meet you. i haven't gotten over it yet! yes it will take some time i'm sure but it was all worth it. We must not ever forget where we came from because it allows us to realize the importance of our present situation. I for one will never forget, maybe perhaps because i relive it daily, being that i'm a good example of a product of my community. I am so proud of my accomplishments and as well as my families. You see it is because of my upbringing, my family, friends and my past that being able to share this wonderful story is possible. I thank you though for making this part of such a wonderful memory possible. I attended the brunch (last day of reunion) and felt so sad that it had to come to an end. However, I look forward to the next gathering and I know that it will just as wonderful! How amd I so sure of this? Because it is people like yourself and this past reunion that assure me in making such a statement. I look forward to speaking with you again. I also will remember if I need to recollect my thoughs and or in need of a boost, I will know exactly where to go. Thanks so much! Gladys

You are truly amazing. This is an undeniable labor of love. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Among the many thrills of the evening was seeing Aida dance her heart away and watching Cesar look at her like a young man in love and in admiration. She felt no pain last night. She probably is feeling it this morning. And then there were neighbors I hadn't seen in 40 years - the Clarks and the Sims of 242 W 62nd. Among The other thrill was seeing the "gang" sing along (with heart and soul) the old tunes that the singing group performed. It was a blast from the past.
