Inspired by a postcard she bought in Page, Cheryl made an unscheduled stop. We turned off the highway on to an unassuming road which led to an equally unassuming parking area at the base of a hill. We hiked a sandy, sagebrush-lined trail to this viewpoint overlooking the Colorado River. It was truly wow-inspiring, made even more impressive by the fact that you see nothing of the view until you're standing right on the edge.
