Carmel is a very popular tourist destination. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to find reasonably priced accommodations there (my definition of "reasonable" is $100 US per night or less). The Homestead is one of the few exceptions. Their newer rooms are in the mid-$100 range, but the older, non-renovated rooms (like this one here) are still pretty cheap. While the decor may be seriously dated, the room is very clean and comfortable. Recommended for those without an unlimited budget who want to stay in Carmel.
