What would have been a nice little trek through the redwoods turned out to be a violent battle with flies as I approached this waterfall. They were everywhere and they were merciless. Because I react horribly to most insect bites, I am not one to take flies and mosquitoes lightly. Between the insect repellant and constant swatting, I was able to escape the woods without a single bite.
